Hemp-Nut Pate

This is a very versatile pate recipe that can be made interchangeably with Hempseeds, Chia Seeds, Coconut Manna and more!  You can use this recipe for things like: dip for chips, spreads, pastas or even salads!  Take the base recipe here and change it to your liking to create many different possibilities.  As always, feel free to share your recipes with the world by joining The Nutiva Recipe Club.

Ingredients:

1 cup Raw Cashews Soaked
1/2 cup Nutiva Hempseed
1 Red Bell Pepper
4-5 tbs Nutritional Yeast
Juice of 1 Lemon
1 tbs Miso Paste
1 Medium Carrot
Sea Salt to Taste

Optional

* Dash of Maple Syrup for a bit of Sweetness
* Black Pepper
* Smoked Paprika
* More Miso to Taste
* More Nutritional Yeast to Taste

We would also suggest trying Chia Seeds for Omega 3 and Nutiva Coconut Manna for a rich coconut flavor!

Directions:

1. Blend everything in a food processor until it reaches a “pate-” or “hummus-like” texture.

Ideas:
*Use as a dip for veggies or bread
*Spread on crackers, toast, or inside a wrap
*Mix with cooked grains or even pasta or salad

Notes:
There are almost infinite ways to alter this recipe- be creative! Substitute different veggies, use other nuts, try adding curry powder or even coconut.

Even if you’re not a “sweet” person, a small bit of maple syrup can really round out the flavors without actually tasting significantly sweeter.
