Nutiva ECO IQ #2 – Nuclear Energy – Click for Answer

The subject of this ECO IQ Quiz was Nuclear Energy.  We wanted to put something out that was a bit funny and lighthearted after such a hard week following the news of the Fukushima Reactor failure.

Here’s how it panned out.

The question was:

What is the greenest source of Nuclear Power?

A) Next-Generation Nuclear Power

B) French-Designed Nuclear Power

C) The Sun.

Well, the answer is quite obviously C, The Sun.  121 people answered this one, and everybody got it right!
The winner of the $50 Nutiva Gift Certificate is Kathy Evers.  Congrats Kathy!

Thanks for being geniuses yourselves – I was so afraid the answer was going to be one of the ridiculous power plants.
Fighting against nuclear energy is an old, old battle – those of us 20 years older, were around and battling in the 80′s, grew up with 3-Mile Island and the China Syndrome movie.
We know better – but know that we are older, and many of us disabled for one reason or another (chalk it up to a life of stress, spent being activists for positive change!), do we have the ability to educate AND mobilize these new, uneducated generations enough to halt the insanity of nuclear power?
I propose, everywhere, to begin screenings of The China Syndrome for the past 2 younger generations, along with a dialogue on how 3 Mile Island occurred within months of the movie’s release.
I also hope Michael Moore and compatriots is already involved in researching the nuclear industry and their dirty little secrets.
As a final note, i live about 80 miles away from pueblo Colorado, a desert landscape, where they are planning on building a nuclear plant. Will they tap the indescribably precious Baca aquifer to do this? Will they store spent rods on site? Undoubtedly – in the middle of the desert.
