In line with Nutiva’s effort to finance it’s rapid growth with mission-aligned and socially-responsible partners, Bank of the West has committed $5,000 to the Richmond Community Foundation to support Nutiva’s work within the Richmond community. In addition, Bank of the West remains highly engaged in supporting Nutiva’s initiatives to promote sustainable agriculture and to improve the current food supply system.
Jeff Mitchell, Chief Financial Officer of Nutiva, says, “Partnering with other ethical businesses is a conscious and proactive search for us. It’s fundamental to what we do and how we promote positive change in the world. We were impressed with Bank of the West’s practices and philanthropic outreach. They asked us the right questions and had the right outreach and commitment toward community.”
Nicki Schroeder, Senior Vice President with Bank of the West adds, “Nutiva was looking for a new bank that they felt was “philosophically aligned” with them. They gift back 1% of their sales to non-profits engaged in sustainable agriculture with their “Nourishing People & Planet” ideology and “pay-it-forward” mindset to doing business. They selected Bank of the West based on our history of giving and our commitment to community.”
The partnership is a fruitful one, as business associates and co-creators for a better world.
