(Richmond, Calif. – October 29, 2012) Nutiva, the fastest-growing organic superfoods brand in the world, announced today the recent hiring of Karen L. Borie as Vice President of Sales to help steer the company’s phenomenal growth.
“Nutiva is thrilled to have Karen Borie join our team. She brings a wealth of experience and skill sets in the organic food industry,” commented Nutiva CEO and founder John W. Roulac.
Borie brings an abundance of experience to Nutiva, having spent the last 16 years in the organic consumer packaged goods industry with Annie’s and her consulting firm, KB Sales & Marketing. Karen helped grow Annie’s Homegrown, in the company’s previous identity as Napa Valley Kitchens, from $1M to $100M in annual sales. In her new role, Karen will oversee Nutiva’s sales on a global basis. Nutiva has grown sales at a 55 percent annual rate since 2002, and has doubled its sales in just the last 120 days. The organic superfoods pioneer has also set ambitious annual sales targets of $100M by 2015 and $1B by 2025.
Nutiva is well positioned in the organic sector, and is currently the #1 selling brand of organic coconut oil, hemp foods, and chia seeds. The firm is building out its state of the art packaging facility at its new headquarters in Richmond, California, and plans to ramp up its private label program for retailers and brands.
Of her new position, Borie says, “I am delighted to be a part of the Nutiva team as the new Vice President of Sales. It will be wonderful working with Nutiva—a dynamic, responsible, and growing organic food company! Our adventure together will be exciting, challenging, and fun.”
