Who is Marco Gudino? If you live in Richmond, chances are you know and admire this man. He is one of Nutiva’s very own Warehouse Operators, otherwise known as the “Warehouse Warriors.” A valuable employee and community man, Marco recently spoke to the Richmond Kiwanis Club about the corporate responsibility mantra of “doing well by doing good.”
Changing out his safety orange vest for a pressed shirt and projector, Marco discussed Nutiva’s move to Richmond and its philosophy that companies and individuals thrive by being values-driven and giving back to the community. Marco knows first hand the benefits of this philosophy. He volunteers at his son’s school in Richmond and on committees at Nutiva. He also started a dad’s club four years ago as a way for fathers to support one another in parenting and enjoy the camaraderie.
Jim Becker, Kiwanis member and Vice President of Community Investments at Richmond Community Foundation, gushed, “Marco was a great representative for your company and was able to articulate the mission of Nutiva and why Richmond was selected for Nutiva’s new home. He also did a great job of describing Nutiva’s work in the community. He was so impressive…”
This comes as no surprise to Nutiva Plant Manager Greg Phillips who recommended Marco as a Nutiva community representative: “Marco believes in Nutiva’s Core Values of Community and Well-Being. He lives it.”
As a result of his speaking, the Richmond Kiwanis will donate a new children’s book in Marco’s name to the Richmond Public Library. Marco hopes they choose his favorite children’s book, Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree.
